Questions & Clarity
Navigating mental health care should feel supportive and transparent.
Below, I provide answers to common questions about our women-focused telehealth practice and concierge psychiatry model, helping you feel fully informed as you begin your journey toward harmony.
GETTING STARTED
How do I begin?
The first step is to schedule a 60-minute initial evaluation. This comprehensive visit allows for a detailed understanding of your concerns, history, and goals, and helps determine the most appropriate treatment approach.
Do I need an initial evaluation before starting care?
Yes. All patients begin with an initial evaluation to ensure safe, appropriate, and personalized treatment.
Does the initial evaluation guarantee ongoing treatment or membership?
No. The initial evaluation is a clinical assessment and does not guarantee acceptance into ongoing care or membership. Recommendations are made based on clinical appropriateness and fit.
The Care Model
Do you offer membership only?
No. The practice offers both visit-based psychiatry care for focused, periodic treatment and comprehensive membership care for women seeking a more integrated, ongoing approach.
How often are follow-up visits scheduled?
Follow-up visits are typically scheduled every 3-6 weeks, depending on your clinical needs and treatment plan. Membership includes up to 15 visits per year, providing flexibility and enhanced access to care when additional support is needed.
Per-visit psychiatry is designed for established patients who are clinically stable and primarily need focused medication management.
Membership is designed for women whose care requires more time and a broader approach. A 45-minute membership visit allows us to address medication, mood, stress, sleep, behavioral patterns, emotional eating, weight and lifestyle factors together rather than limiting the visit to a brief psychiatric check-in.
Membership also provides enhanced between-visit access and priority scheduling, allowing treatment to evolve more responsively over time.
Why would I choose membership instead of $150 follow-up visits?
What is the difference between membership and visit-based care?
Membership provides a more comprehensive and structured care model, including longer visits, integrated psychiatry, psychotherapy-informed care, and weight optimization support, along with priority access and greater continuity. Visit-based care is more focused and limited in scope, typically centered on medication management and shorter follow-up visits.
What is the difference between the Mind-Body Membership and the Graduate Tier?
While the Mind-Body Membership focuses on high-touch, active transformation and frequent titration, the Graduate Tier shifts to low-stress tracking and long-term preservation of the gains you’ve already made.
Who is eligible for the Graduate Tier?
This tier is exclusively an invite-only program reserved for patients who have completed their initial 9 to 15 months of intensive care and achieved a stable clinical and metabolic baseline.
Can I rejoin the Mind-Body Membership if I experience a relapse?
Yes; the Graduate Tier includes a priority safety net that gives you immediate, friction-free access to step back up to high-touch core care if life gets chaotic and you need temporary, active support.
How long do I stay on the Graduate Tier?
This membership runs on a predictable, ongoing monthly basis with no fixed end date, acting as a long-term insurance policy for your mental and metabolic health.
TELEHEALTH
Is the practice telehealth only?
Yes. All care is provided through secure telehealth. This allows you to receive care from home or work, without commuting or waiting rooms, and with greater privacy and flexibility.
Where do you provide care?
Telehealth services are available to patients located in New York and New Jersey at the time of their appointment.
Can I be seen while traveling?
You must be physically located in New York or New Jersey during your appointment, even if you reside elsewhere.
Services
What conditions do you treat?
We provide care for a range of mental health and mind-body concerns, including anxiety, depression, burnout and chronic stress, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), ADHD, mood-related symptoms, emotional eating, weight-related behavioral and mental health concerns, mild to moderate insomnia, and life transitions affecting mental well-being.
Do you offer psychotherapy?
Care is psychotherapy-informed and integrated, but this is not a traditional standalone weekly therapy model. Therapeutic approaches are incorporated into your overall treatment plan.
Do you offer support for weight optimization?
Yes. Weight optimization is addressed through a comprehensive, whole-person approach that recognizes the close connection between mental health, behavior, physiology, and overall wellness. Treatment may include personalized nutrition planning, behavioral and psychological support, lifestyle modification, and medication management when appropriate. The focus is not on quick fixes, but on creating sustainable habits and meaningful long-term changes that support both physical and emotional well-being.
Do you prescribe weight loss medications, such as GLP-1 medications like Wegovy or Zepbound?
Yes, when clinically appropriate. This may include GLP-1 receptor agonists, such as Wegovy, Zepbound, or similar medications, as part of a comprehensive, medically guided treatment plan. Medications are prescribed based on individual clinical assessment and are typically part of a broader, structured care plan rather than used in isolation.
Is integrated psychiatry plus weight optimization available to everyone?
This level of integrated care is typically offered through the membership model, where continuity and structure allow for a more effective approach.
access and communication
Do you offer messaging?
Yes. Secure messaging is available to all active patients as part of ongoing care.
How quickly do you respond to messages?
Membership patients typically receive responses within 1-2 business days. Visit-based patients typically receive responses within 2-3 business days. Messaging is intended for brief clinical questions and clarifications and not intended for any urgent concerns or emergency situations.
What should I do in an emergency?
This practice does not provide emergency or crisis care. If you are experiencing an urgent or life-threatening situation, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Can I schedule an additional visit if needed?
Yes. Membership patients have priority access, typically within 24-48 hours, with up to 2 additional visits per month when clinically appropriate. Membership includes up to 15 visits per year, providing flexibility and enhanced access to care when additional support is needed.Â
Visit-based patients can typically schedule an additional visit within approximately one week, depending on availability.
pricing and policies
Do you accept insurance?
No. This is a cash-based practice. This allows for longer visits, greater flexibility in care, and a more personalized, high-quality approach.
Can I use out-of-network benefits?
If applicable, you may be able to submit documentation to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.
What is your cancellation and no-show policy for visit-based psychiatry appointments?
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice or missed appointments ("no-shows") for visit-based psychiatry appointments are subject to a $150 fee. For patients enrolled in membership, scheduling and access are structured differently, and this fee does not apply in the same manner. A valid card on file may be required to schedule appointments, and applicable fees may be charged in accordance with this policy.
Are fees refundable?
Fees are for professional time and are non-refundable, except as required by law. Additional details may be found in the Patient Agreement
